How is this service able to be free? Unlimitednet Hosting's free hosting service is sponsored by the paid hosting revenue. We offer our services for free in hopes of getting our name out to the world, hopefully resulting in more paid clients, which will give us more revenue to improve our free services again! It's fun how it works, or so we hope.

Will there be any ads on my page? No, Unlimitednet Hosting is firmly against forced advertisements.

What do I have to do to get my hosting? Simply be a part of our forum community, post once in awhile...

How can I contribute something to FreeUNH? Contact our support department to make contributions. We would be glad to discuss anything you think you can offer us

Do you support domains? At this moment, to encourage people to upgrade to paid hosting, we do not by default. However, for extra UNHP, we may consider hosting a domain for you. Please post in the requests board for further information.

Can I execute PHP scripts on the UNH servers? Yes, Unlimitednet Hosting fully supports the execution of PHP scripts.

Is PHP in Safe Mode? Nope, we belive in freedom.

Can I execute CGI or Perl scripts on the UNH servers? Yes, Unlimitednet Hosting fully supports the execution of CGI and Perl scripts.

Is there a terms of use policy? Yes, you can find it on the navigation panel above.

Can I store copyrighted files on the UNH servers? Yes, but only if you own the copyright, or have the distinct written permission of the copyright holder to host the files. Things like warez, crackz, isoz, and abandonware, are not allowed on the UNH servers. If you are unsure of certain content, please ask a UNH support representative before uploading the file. There are no excuses. Copyrighted content being hosted without permission will result in immediate account suspension, as soon as we detect the files.

Are there any limits to the types of files I can host? No. You can host anything, from HTML files, to PHP scripts, to compressed archives, to audio... Just make sure it complies with our terms of use, and it is alright with us!

How do I upload files to my hosting account? FreeUNH supplies access to an FTP server. When you go to upload files to your account, use an FTP client, such as Internet Explorer or FileZilla. The server address for FTP will be "ftp.yourname.freeunh.org". You can then connect with the username and password you selected at application. If you require further assistance with FTP access, contact our technical support department or ask on the forums.

How do I access my email account? You can use any popular email client to connect to our mail server. Additionally, we provide access to webmail, via "webmail.yourname.freeunh.org". For your convenience, there are tutorials for setting up your email client available in your mailbox manager, which can be accessed at "mailboxes.yourname.freeunh.org". If you require further assistance accessing your email account, please feel free to ask a technical support representative or post on the forums about it.

What if I want my email forwarded? If this is the case, you will have to request this via the forums, or by emailing a support representative. This can be manually setup, but your account does not come this way by default. If you opt to have your email forwarded, your email can be sent to any external address.

Is this just the same as paid hosting? No, Unlimited Net Hosting Free is hosted on a different server, with a different panel and very little support in comparison to our cheap paid hosting.

If I decide to buy paid hosting later, will all my files from my current FreeUNH account automatically be there? No, since the paid hosting server is a completely different web server, your files and databases will not be there by default. However, if you contact our technical support department, we would be glad to help you move your website to the new server at no charge. Using a direct FTP connection between the two servers, our network techs can easily transfer the files to your new hosting account.

Why should I upgrade to paid since I already have a great free service? Our paid service offers more space, more bandwidth, more subdomains... more, everything! Additionally, you can host any domain name you want, you're not confined to our subdomains. You get the cPanel hosting control panel, Fantastico Deluxe, and many more bonus features. Plus, you don't have to worry about forum posting anymore!

Do you support .htaccess? Yes, .htaccess is allowed and will work effectively on our servers.
